What a voice! Why is it that women today all sound the same? They kind of ‘squeak’ like little girls (as if they don’t want to grow up) and the so called ‘actresses’ don’t take enough breath and so the last few words sink into obscurity… British girls just giggle constantly – when they’re not looking in mirrors and other reflective surfaces…
That’s not true, there are lots of good quality roles for women these days. Just like there were lots of crappy roles back then, as well. We just feel like there is a lot of junk because we are living in the era these movies came out. We need to look back after 10 years or so, to make a better judgement.
so verra true, but the level of sophistication has dropped all around. everything has be overtly sexual, or slapstick comedy… subtlety has left the building:(
This is one of the greatest movie scenes of all time. The whistle line is obviously most famous but I think the line, “It’s even better when you help!” is one greatest piece of dialog in movie history.

That’s not true, there are lots of good quality roles for women these days. Just like there were lots of crappy roles back then, as well. And you’re telling me that women weren’t given empowering roles and quality dialogue all those years ago?
It’s a shame we don’t see such sophisticated roles (for women) commonplace in modern cinema.
